NRA Shooting Courses

First Step Courses

Pistol, rifle and shotgun are basic shooting courses we offer to people who want to learn about shooting firearms. They are offered in a 4 to 5 hour, one on one basis called FIRST STEPS courses.

NRA Personal Protection In The Home (PPITH)
MN Permit to Carry (MPPA)

Requirements for the carry permit are all met in the NRA PPITH course. This is an 8 - hour course, beginning at 8:00 AM. (See Our NRA Course Schedule) A pre-course shooting assessment is required for this course.
(Minimum - 5 students per class)

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home

This course contains many different shooting techniques. Level 1 is 9 hours. Level 2 is 5 hours. They can be taken together or separately. We provide a book, law enforcement speaker, classroom and range. You should bring your firearm, 100 (min.) rounds ammo for level 1 and 112 (min.) rounds of ammo for level 2, a strong side hip holster designed for your gun, speed loaders or magazines, concealment garment (jacket or shirt), knee pads, ear & eye protection, pen/pencil notepaper and handgun owners manual. You may bring a bag lunch.

Range Safety Officer

A popular course for people who want to work closely with their ranges. Or, for those who work with firearm programs in Boy Scouts, 4-H and other similar organizations. It helps you comply with rules, regulations, range inspections, safety, and emergency procedures. This is an 8 hour course, beginning at 8:00 AM. No firearms required (See Our NRA Course Schedule)

Coaching

We offer coaching to shooters who want to improve their skills.
Call for an appointment.$30.00 per hour
